Victoria Gosling

Victoria Gosling OBE has had a highly distinguished career, spanning the military, sports leadership, and business. She served 21 years in the Royal Air Force (RAF), rising to the rank of Group Captain of RAF Benson. During her time in the RAF, she held several critical roles, including leading a helicopter base of over 2,000 personnel, supporting military operations in Afghanistan. Best known for her role as CEO of the Invictus Games 2016, Victoria is the emblem of leadership, resilience and inspiring change. With educational qualifications from the University of Leeds, University of Leicester and King’s College London, Victoria joined the Royal Air Force as a Wing Commander. She also juggled responsibility as Commodore of the Royal Air Force Watersports Centre.

One of Victoria’s most significant achievements was her role in launching the Invictus Games in 2014 alongside Prince Harry. This event, which brought together over 400 injured servicemen and women from 14 countries, was designed to use the power of sports for recovery. This experience solidified her reputation as a leader who could navigate complex, high-pressure environments while inspiring transformative change. In the world of sports management, Victoria became the Chief Executive of GB Snowsport, where she led initiatives to merge Olympic and Paralympic teams, increasing inclusivity and performance, while also working to boost diversity within the sport. Currently, she serves as Chair of British Surfing, helping to build a competitive squad for future Olympic Games. She is also a Board Director of the British Olympic Association.

Victoria’s dedication to both military service and adaptive sports earned her an MBE in 2004 and an OBE in 2014. Beyond sports, Victoria is also involved in mentoring, specifically with a mentorship program at Bath University, aimed at helping young women develop leadership skills.
