This programme is built around the measurable difference your people make across three fronts: better-engaged people, leaner processes and stronger performance, with evidenced ROI from your levy investment.
01
People
Engaged teams who spot problems, suggest improvements and take ownership of how work gets done.
02
Processes
Leaner, more reliable ways of working that raise efficiency across the team.
03
Performance
Measurable gains in quality, cost and delivery that hold, backed by evidence for your levy.
What your people will do
Applied from day one, in your workplace.
Everything is built around the real work in front of them, so the organisation sees value long before the qualification completes.
Identify problems and root causes using structured improvement tools
Map processes end to end and design out inefficiencies
Run and support continuous improvement activity across their team
Use data to measure performance and prove the impact of changes
Engage colleagues and build support for new ways of working
Sustain improvements so gains hold, rather than slipping back
The live workplace project
One real project. Evidenced ROI by programme end.
Every apprentice delivers a real improvement project inside your business, applying structured problem-solving to a live issue. It becomes the evidence for their assessment and a measured return on your levy investment, not a classroom exercise.
Time saved, processes improved and productivity gained are documented and reported back, so you can see the impact directly.
Beyond the qualification
More than a qualification. A network.
As an RTB client, you and your teams get more than the programme itself. Through our network of 900+ speakers and experts, your people get live webinars running alongside their apprenticeship, events, resources and the chance to book global experts directly.
Lean and continuous-improvement principles, problem identification and the tools that underpin structured improvement.

Frequently asked questions
What impact does a Level 3 Improvement Technician apprenticeship have on our business?+
Every participant delivers a live improvement project on a real business priority, chosen with their manager. Rather than completing academic assignments in isolation, they remove waste, improve performance and prevent problems re-occurring, so the programme returns value to the organisation while it runs.
What will an Improvement Technician be able to do differently?+
They develop the skills, confidence and structured thinking needed to solve problems where the work happens: identifying opportunities, scoping projects, analysing data and leading change that sticks. By the end, they are equipped to make a measurable impact within their role, their team and their organisation.
How soon does an Improvement Technician apprenticeship deliver a return?+
Application starts early. Module 1 is about defining a problem and scoping a project, so participants are working on a genuine business issue from the opening weeks rather than waiting until the end. Progress is visible in bi-monthly reviews with the participant, coach and line manager.
How is the impact of the improvement project measured?+
Projects are scoped with measurable objectives and a problem statement supported by validated data. Participants analyse performance using good-quality data and, at the end, create control and reaction plans so the gain is sustained rather than drifting back.
What does the wider team gain from an Improvement Technician apprenticeship?+
Improvement Technicians coach as well as deliver. Participants engage colleagues affected by a change, coach peers through new ways of working and share best practice through benchmarking, spreading improvement capability beyond the individual on the programme.
