Georgie Barrat

Her work includes Shop Smart Save Money and The Gadget Show (Channel 5), Morning Live, Rip Off Britain (BBC) and ITV Tonight. She also regularly stands in as host presenter for the live broadcasts of Jeremy Vine and Storm Huntley on Channel 5. For the likes of ITV News, BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio 5 Live she is often called upon to comment on breaking technology stories; pulling on her first-hand experience and extensive knowledge of tech trends from AI and cutting edge computing, to enterprise data centres and cloud technologies. In 2024, Georgie presented news-style content for ITN Business, exploring the world of educational technology. The programme delved into the dynamic world of EdTech, showcasing how digital tools and techniques are revolutionising learning in classrooms.

Away from reviewing the latest apps and devices, Georgie is interested in how technology is disrupting the way we work and socialise, and the impact AI will have on our society as we know it. Her keynote exploring future tech trends has taken her all over the world, being invited to speak at events including Web Summit, Mobile World Congress and Smart City Expo as well as for clients including Google, IBM, Sony, Huawei and BAFTA.

Passionate about women working in technology, Georgie devotes time to encouraging more girls to be involved in STEM subjects. She works alongside Girls in ICT, the IET and Childnet, striving to make technology and the digital world as exciting and inclusive as possible whilst also being safe for children and young people.

She has hosted multiple podcasts, including The Tech Disruption Series that saw her interview various start-ups that are disrupting industries; Sleep Life, a podcast all about the importance of sleep; and Lloyds Banking Group’s podcast No Ordinary Tech.  Not one to shy away from a challenge, Georgie has a world record for the longest time anyone has been in VR (a very intense 26.5 hours), has run the London Marathon and bungee jumped whilst wearing a VR headset (terrifying, if you are wondering).
