Tanya Beckett

Tanya is an experienced broadcaster and media professional with over twenty years in the industry. She began her career at the Financial Times before moving on to roles at CNBC, Sky News, CNN, and, since 1998, the BBC.

At the BBC, Tanya has worked across a wide range of programmes on BBC World News, the News Channel, Radio 4, BBC One, and BBC Two. Her credits include The Inquiry, Our World, Working Lunch, Today, World Business Report, and Newsnight. She also spent three years living in New York, reporting for the BBC on major global stories.

Beyond broadcasting, Tanya collaborates with leading international organizations such as the World Bank, EBRD, EIB, ADB, Chatham House, the Somali Government, and the British Foreign Office on trade and communication initiatives.

Currently, Tanya writes and presents the BBC’s weekly current affairs radio documentary The Inquiry and anchors news programmes for BBC News.

She holds a degree in Metallurgy and Materials Science from Oxford University and previously worked as an investment banker in Frankfurt and London for five years. Tanya speaks fluent German, conversational French, and some Spanish.
