Sir Alex Ferguson is a legend in the world of football management. The sports and motivational speaker etched his name in the history books after making Manchester United the first team in English history to earn a “treble,” following a domestic top-division league, a domestic cup, and a continental championship victory. Today, Alex takes audiences on a journey through his long and successful career, leaving them with invaluable insight into leadership and teamwork.
Sir Alex Ferguson is best known for his role at Manchester United, where he managed the team to several historic victories, including 13 Premier League wins. Affectionately called “Fergie,” he earned a reputation for his formidable leadership skills, which guaranteed victory for every team he managed. As a motivational speaker, Alex teaches senior leadership teams how to best support their staff, and employees how to optimise their performance. Teamwork, communication, and leadership are just some of the many topics this engaging speaker discusses, along with his exciting football career.
Early in his career, Alex managed Aberdeen FC to win multiple Scottish Premier Division titles, Scottish Premier Division wins and a European Cup. In 1986, Alex was appointed manager of Manchester United. Following an initial learning curve, he turned the club around in 1990 to win the FA Cup. This sparked a string of victories for the football manager, including several Premier League wins, more FA Cup titles, and the Championships League. Such success earned Alex the reputation for management he explores today as a speaker, as Manchester United secured the first” treble” victory in English history.
In recognition of his contributions to Manchester United, among other footballing successes, Alex was named Premier League Manager of the Year 11 times and was an inaugural inductee of the English Football Hall of Fame. Further, Alex received the first FA Coaching Diploma in 2002, and was later appointed Vice President of the National Football Museum.
