During his 10 year career as a negotiator he saved over 130 lives, successfully resolving highly volatile armed sieges, domestic and international kidnaps and high-risk suicide interventions. As a passionate and engaging speaker Nigel brings to life, through his stories, subjects such as elite level listening, emotional intelligence and how to influence people and negotiate when you have nothing to give away.

Nigel has over 30 years of operational experience with the Greater Manchester Police and Counter-Terrorism Policing North West. During that time he served in a wide variety of front line and investigative roles. At the height of his career, he was a Detective Inspector responsible for counter terrorism policing operations.
He is an experienced trainer and has delivered negotiation training to UK police officers, Special Forces personnel and international colleagues from the FBI, Finland and Australian police forces.
Nigel now brings transferable skills, honed in the secretive and rarely seen world of hostage negotiation, to help those in business, explaining not only what hostage negotiators do, but how they do it.
