Jack Nolan

At just 19, Jack Nolan’s dream of working in film production was shattered when a sudden psychotic episode led to him being sectioned under the Mental Health Act. Though the grueling recovery initially left him unable to leave his bed, Jack fought back with incredible grit, teaching himself the publishing industry from scratch to launch three successful gangster-thriller novels onto the shelves of Waterstones. Even when a severe relapse of mania and paranoia forced a second hospitalization years later—alongside investor losses and personal heartbreaks he refused to stay down. Now in his late 20s, Jack has transformed his battles into a “bulletproof Sectioned to Success mindset,” traveling the corporate circuit to inspire major global companies like Sky, Barclays and Hewlett Packard with his story of relentless resilience.

At 19, Jack Nolan was building a dream career in TV and film production when his world fractured. Hit by a sudden episode of psychosis, he was sectioned under the Mental Health Act, forcing him to drop out of university and leave his ambitions behind. The initial 19-day hospital stay was just the beginning; the real battle was a grueling recovery that made simply moving from his bed to the sofa feel like a mountain.

But Jack chose to fight. Channelling relentless grit, he spent a month aggressively pursuing a target publisher, ultimately securing a deal that launched his debut crime thriller, On The Job (2017), straight onto the shelves of Waterstones. He followed it with two more gripping gangster novels, Dead Ends (2019) and Dead Ends: Rise Up (2023)

Progress, however, isn’t a straight line. Just as life was rebuilding, a severe relapse of mania and paranoia forced a second, 30-day hospitalization. Yet, despite relationship breakdowns, economic crashes, and losing major investors, Jack refused to be defined by his setbacks. Today, he has transformed his deepest adversities into a high-performance blueprint: the ‘Sectioned to Success’ mindset. A powerful voice on resilience, Jack now takes the stage to inspire corporate giants worldwide, including Sky, Barclays, Hewlett Packard, Reckitt, and over 30 other industry leaders.

I highly recommend Jack Nolan as a motivational speaker for any organisation looking to make a genuine, lasting impact on their team’s well-being. Jack brings a wonderfully bubbly personality and a fresh, energising presence to the stage that instantly connects with an audience. However, what makes his session truly exceptional is the way he balances that natural warmth with a deeply sobering, honest talk about mental health. In today’s corporate world, where mental health challenges are more prevalent and critical to address than ever before, Jack’s ‘Sectioned to Success’ keynote delivers the exact kind of raw perspective and practical insight that businesses need. Jack’s story is a masterclass in resilience. He doesn’t just inspire; he empowers people to walk out of the room feeling genuinely equipped to handle life’s pressures. If you are looking to uplift, educate, and truly support your workforce, bring Jack to your next event. He is an outstanding voice for modern business.
I write from first hand experience of working with Jack. I was mesmerised by one of his posts on LinkedIn.  I made contact and it started from there. One truly inspirational speaker.  He holds his audience to perfection.  He tailors his content to the needs of the business and boom there it is. When Jack & I connected before he engaged with my management team, he wanted to know what I wanted to know exactly what i wanted to achieve.  My view point was I want them to absorb your story to understand what empathy can look like in the workplace as a Manager when dealing with some challenging mental health. He delivered everything I expected and so much more.  He bought some of us to tears just by sharing his incredible story. The bottom line for me is if you need inspiration in a speaker please connect with Jack Nolan he will deliver to perfection.
I first met Jack at 42 St, a lottery funded project in Manchester, during my time as Executive Director at Camelot.  Jack told me his story and of his ambition to provide inspirational talks. We gave Jack the opportunity to come and speak to our Retail Sales force in a sizeable conference and Jack was a huge hit. His honesty, candour, passion and determination shone through and provided an exceptionally powerful and motivational back drop to this important commercial moment. Jack’s great performance led us to ask him to speak to other teams, including my Marketing Department at Twitter HQ in London, and time and again he has received outstanding feedback. Now in my role at Sky, he is soon to join us to talk to my department here, and I have every confidence Jack will continue to deliver as a trusted partner. I’ve had the privilege of knowing Jack Nolan over a numbers of years, first when he spoke at one of our events in London. From the outset, Jack stood out as an exceptionally authentic and impactful speaker.  His ability to connect with audiences comes not just from strong delivery but from the honesty of his story and the way he translates lived experiences. He is thoughtful in how he engages, open to feedback and genuinely focused on delivering value for clients and audiences alike. If you’re looking for a speaker who brings energy, inspiration and meaningful impact to the room, I would strongly recommend Jack.
