Raise the Bar achieves ‘Good’ Ofsted Rating, delivering “transformational” Leadership Development

Raise the Bar, a specialist provider of leadership and management apprenticeships, has been awarded a ‘Good’ rating by Ofsted following their October 2024 inspection, confirming the organisation’s excellence in developing future leaders.

The inspection rated the provider as ‘Good’ across all areas and highlighted Raise the Bar’s particular strengths in creating highly motivated learners and delivering transformational leadership development.

Janette Healey, Head of Apprenticeships and Quality at Raise the Bar, commented: “This ‘Good’ rating from Ofsted validates our innovative approach to developing tomorrow’s leaders. We’re particularly proud that our apprentices describe their learning experience as transformational, which reflects our commitment to delivering high-impact professional development.”

Key highlights from the inspection include:

• Apprentices are highly motivated and describe their apprenticeship programme as transformational
• Strong focus on practical application, with apprentices immediately applying leadership skills in their workplace
• Highly effective career progression support, leading to increased workplace responsibilities and confidence in their management abilities
• Innovative delivery methods combining traditional coaching with cutting-edge technology
• Recognition of the importance placed on a positive workplace culture. Staff talk enthusiastically about the open culture that leaders create and how they feel valued and listened to.

The report particularly praised how apprentices develop practical leadership skills, with operations managers learning effective team performance review techniques and team leaders gaining confidence in group presentations. The Women in Leadership programme was also specifically commended for providing a safe environment for discussing workplace experiences and challenges.

“Our apprentices consistently demonstrate high motivation and ambition to become high-performing leaders and managers,” added Janette. “It’s a testament to our exceptional team who go above and beyond to raise the bar for our learners. Their unwavering dedication, expertise and genuine passion for developing others has created an excellent learning experience. This ‘Good’ rating reflects not just the quality of our programmes, but the commitment of every team member who makes our transformational learning possible.”
