Dr. Punam Krishan is a Scottish General Practitioner and media personality who is widely recognised for her work as a resident doctor on BBC’s Morning Live. Throughout her career, Punam has tried her hand at several different roles and opportunities. From working as a GP, to authoring children’s books and appearing on TV and the radio. In her early career, Punam worked as a salaried GP after studying medicine at the University of Glasgow. After this role, she became a business owner and GP partner at Pollokshaws Medical Practice. Transitioning to a freelance portfolio GP, Punam expanded her career into media, writing, and public speaking. She also made regular appearances on BBC’s Morning Live as a resident GP. Punam authored her children’s book, ‘How to be a Doctor and Other Life-Saving Jobs’, in 2022. Her contributions over the course of her illustrious career have resulted in her being shortlisted for the ‘British Journalism Awards’ in 2021 for ‘Comment Journalism’. Punam has recently gained further recognition by joining the cast of Strictly Come Dancing in 2024.
