Clare is not your typical money expert.
In 2019, with more than £27,000 of debt across seven credit cards, an overdraft, no savings, and no assets, she reached breaking point with her finances. So she did what most people wouldn’t: she set up an Instagram account and started sharing her story publicly.
Today, Clare is an award‑winning finance creator, recently named Best Family Finance Influencer at the 2025 Finfluencer Awards. She has grown a community of over 120,000 people by documenting her journey – from paying off her debt and saving for a house deposit to navigating the financial realities of motherhood. Along the way, she became a certified financial coach, building a platform rooted in honesty, practicality, and humanity. Her bestselling first book, Real Life Money, was published in 2020, followed by Five Steps to Financial Wellbeing in 2022.
In 2022, at age 32, Clare was diagnosed with ADHD – an experience that deepened her understanding of her own financial patterns and highlighted the barriers faced by neurodivergent people. She now focuses on making personal finance genuinely inclusive, offering shame‑free, accessible guidance. Her content blends lived experience with actionable tools and lesser‑known money hacks to help people save, spend mindfully, and make confident financial decisions.
Clare’s work spans money in motherhood, millennial finance, shopping addiction, saving, investing, and more. Her audience trusts her to be frank, insightful, and real. She partners with brands on meaningful campaigns that genuinely support her community – whether that’s showcasing Monzo’s ADHD‑friendly saving features, raising awareness of the Gender Pension Gap with PensionBee, or discussing financial anxiety with Unity Mutual. Her relatable approach means she also collaborates beyond finance: she is Hipp Organic’s resident family finance expert and has partnered with lifestyle brands including Clarins, Boots, and Asda.
She has successfully introduced more than 1,000 new customers each to platforms such as TopCashback, Snoop, Plum, and Sprive through content that connects and converts.
A regular writer for publications including The Guardian, The i Paper, Grazia, and Stylist, Clare is media‑trained and often appears as a financial expert in press and broadcast campaigns for brands such as Experian, Motorway, and eBay.
Alongside her brand partnerships and journalism, Clare works as a financial coach with both private individuals and corporate clients.
Her monthly financial wellbeing clinics for Havas Media have been running for over two years with outstanding feedback. She also supports organisations through talks and workshops, helping workplaces open up conversations about money that would otherwise go unheard.
