Baroness Karren Brady CBE began her career at Saatchi & Saatchi when she was 18 years old and swiftly moved onto London Broadcasting Company as a sales executive. Karren Brady joined Sport Newspapers Ltd in 1988 and became Director within a year. Karren is now known as the first woman in football. She was Managing Director of Birmingham City Football Club from 1993 to 2009 and during that time turned the Club’s fortunes around. In October 2009 Karren Brady’s business was valued at over £82million and she sold it.
Following this, Karren was appointed Vice Chairman of West Ham United FC and under her leadership, West Ham was announced as the preferred bidder for use of the Olympic Stadium following the 2012 games. As well as her well-publicised appearances alongside Alan Sugar on BBC’s The Apprentice, Karren has hosted her own TV show, is a successful author, regular newspaper columnist and ultimately a household name. She is also an ambassador for a number of charities and holds Director level positions within organisations such as Sport England, Mothercare and Arcadia.
