Tammy Beaumont is one of England Women’s most recognisable faces having achieved great success in the cricketing world.
Tammy fell in love with cricket at a young age, and first made her mark in domestic cricket playing for Kent. 2016 was Tammy’s breakthrough year as she emerged as a key figure in England’s top order in ODIs, amassing over 500 runs in the year, cementing her place in the national team. Her most notable performance was the 2017 ICC Women’s World Cup, where she was the leading run-scorer for England. Her consistency here also earned her Player of the Series award in the World Cup final.
She has since gone on to play for other teams such as London Spirit, and was signed by the Welsh Fire for the 2022 season of The Hundred. Throughout her International career she has been extremely successful, evident from her performance in the March 2019 Women’s Twenty20 International match against Sri Lanka where Tammy scored her 1,000th run in WT20I.
Outside of playing cricket, Tammy advocates for the growth of women’s cricket, and speaks of the importance of promoting and supporting the game for the generations to come, recognising the importance of role models in inspiring the next generation.
She is a role model and inspirational figure for young girls, encouraging them to take up the sport. As a record breaker on the field and an advocate for more equality in women’s sport, she is absolutely an inspiration to young females and now actively mentors young cricketers taking part in programs designed to promote cricket for young girls.
