Raised by the Liverpool Harriers, Katarina Johnson-Thompson is a record-breaking, medal-winning star of Heptathlon, Long Jump and High Jump.
The 2012 Junior World Champion in the Heptathlon, Katarina is tipped as a huge star of the future. Finishing 15th in her first senior competition, a little event called the London 2012 Olympics, she broke Junior records with her times and as such won the gold in the Heptathlon at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
Hailing from Liverpool, Katarina started out following in her dancer Mum’s footsteps, yet discovered her talent in school and has yet to look back.
The Heptathlon reflects Katarina as a person: always wanting to try something new, never settling, and it was this excitement that led her to the event in the first place. 2013 saw Kat claim the European U23 title, win her first ever Diamond League long jump competition in front of a sell-out crowd at the London Anniversary Games, and then surpass all expectations again to finish 5th at the IAAF World Championships rounding off her first year as a professional athlete in style. Katarina also loves music, taking great care selecting her warm-up playlists!
