British-born visionary. Serial entrepreneur. Mother of four.
Emma Grede is the ultimate modern mogul—turning big ideas into some of today’s most influential consumer brands. She’s the co-founder and CEO of Good American, founding partner of SKIMS, co-founder of Safely and Off Season, and now the voice behind the Aspire with Emma Grede podcast.
Emma Grede is the visionary CEO and Co-Founder of Good American. She has not only pioneered the first fully inclusive fashion brand, celebrating the myriad dimensions of female power, but has also played an integral role in shaping iconic lines spanning denim, ready-to-wear, swim, shoes, and activewear since the brand’s historic launch in October 2016 alongside Khloé Kardashian. Simultaneously, she co-founded SKIMS, a forward-thinking brand revolutionising underwear, loungewear, and shapewear, and Safely, a plant-powered cleaning brand delivering chemical-free products.
With a rich background in fashion show production, Emma’s entrepreneurial journey includes founding and leading ITB Worldwide, a prominent talent management and entertainment marketing agency. Breaking barriers, she made history as the first black woman investor on ABC’s Shark Tank and is set to join the upcoming season of the BBC’s Dragons’ Den in 2024. Beyond her roles on screen, Emma’s commitment to inclusivity, diversity, and sustainability is evident in her activism and investments, where she identifies and supports ground-breaking entrepreneurs.
She is recognised for her transformative impact in shaping inclusive fashion and fostering socially responsible decisions across diverse industries.
A leader with purpose, Emma also lends her time and expertise to global impact organisations, serving on the board of directors for the Obama Foundation and Baby2Baby. Her journey proves that success and substance go hand in hand.
“You can’t be what you don’t see. That’s why representation is everything to me — in business, in media, in leadership. I grew up in East London not seeing many people who looked like me doing what I wanted to do. That didn’t make me less ambitious, but it meant I had to imagine myself into places I’d never seen someone like me occupy. Now, I’m building companies where everyone sees themselves reflected — not as a quota, but as a value.”
