Quick Quote

Dr Steve Bull is a keynote speaker, author and “high performance” psychologist.

During his 40 year career he has coached CEOs, Olympic athletes, NATO officers, actors and university professors. He has attended 3 Olympic Games as the Great Britain Team Headquarters Psychologist and has worked with 100s of athletes in professional sports helping individuals and teams optimise their performance potential.

After working with the World Cup winning England Women’s Cricket Team for 10 years he worked with the England Men’s Team for 16 years during which time they famously regained the Ashes from Australia in 2005 before going on to reach No.1 in the world rankings for the first time ever in the modern era.

Having gained a PhD early in his career, in 2006 he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in recognition of his “outstanding contribution to international performance psychology”. Steve has specialised as an executive coach and business consultant in the second half of his career delivering development programmes in high performance leadership, team effectiveness, change management, organisational culture and resilience.

He has worked with a wide range of organisations throughout Europe, the USA, the Middle East and Asia – including 21 of the current FTSE 100 listed companies. Throughout his career he has published articles widely in both scientific and professional outlets as well as writing a range of books (shown below), two of which have been published as translations and three of which have been used as academic textbooks in UK schools and universities.

Most notably his book “The Game Plan: Your guide to mental toughness at work” has sold around the world. In it he presents a practical guide to developing resilience in the workplace based on the model he developed from his scientific research and professional practice. The foreword for this book is written by former England Cricket Captain Michael Vaughan, OBE, who says “Steve Bull’s ideas and techniques will equip anyone in business with a game plan for acquiring the winning edge.”

Steve’s own leadership experience includes serving terms as Chair of five national executive committees, including the British Olympic Association Psychology Steering Group, and the England and Wales Cricket Board Science and Medicine Advisory Group for which he was the inaugural Chair.
