Emmanuel presents and offers his expert advice on Money on my Mind for Channel 4 Digital alongside On The Money with co-host Tayo Oguntonade. Both shows have achieved huge audience engagement, achieving three times the channel’s benchmark, ranking in the “top 3 most watched” 4Studios branded content on YouTube and “most watched” on Instagram.
Emmanuel’s new book “Get Your Money Right” released on 16th February aims to prove that learning about money doesn’t have to be boring – and it is vital, especially in the midst of a cost-of-living crisis. It explains the basics of finance from the UK credit system to pensions, how to protect your assets, generation wealth and setting up a side hustle, as well as guidance on getting a money mindset, building good financial habits and how to spend and save. Again, all in his easy-to-digest, entertaining way.
You may also recognise him from BBC 1 show We Are England, Channel 4 show Secret Spenders and Save Well Spend Better, where he helped cash-strapped families and couples who overspend, with a financial makeover. Emmanuel has also joined shows including C4’s The Greatest Auction, BBC1 programme’s Your Money, Your Life, Watchdog, Morning Live, Rip Off Britain, ITV’s This Morning, Channel 5’s 30 Tips to Cut your Bills show and as a regular expert on Jeremy Vine Extra.
Growing up in Tower Hamlets East London and living very close to Canary Wharf, Emmanuel grew up dreaming of working in one of the Banks in Canary Wharf. This dream came true at age 22 when he became a financial adviser at Barclays Bank, he also went on to work for HBOS, HSBC & NatWest.
Over the years Emmanuel has seen the financial markets rise and fall and has helped numerous clients reach their financial goals and ultimately achieve financial freedom.
Emmanuel believes in financial planning and is known by his clients for always quoting “if you fail to plan, you plan to fail”. Emmanuel also believes in building long term relationships and he still has clients from when he first came into the industry over a decade ago. In a world that is forever changing, it is important financial plans are regularly reviewed to ensure clients’ goals are achieved.
After conducting financial education sessions within churches and youth groups, Emmanuel decided to set up Noir Excel. Noir Excel focused its services at helping individuals from low social-economic backgrounds and provides them with the knowledge to break the debt and poverty cycles they face. In these seminars Emmanuel teaches attendees the principles of financial planning and some of the areas covered are; budgeting, improving your credit score, debt management, savings/emergency funds, investing, pensions, life insurance, mortgages and property.
Due to the success of Noir Excel, Emmanuel was invited to be 1 of 4 financial experts on Channel 4’s primetime television show “Save Well, Spend Better”. The television show was a great success and positioned Emmanuel as financial expert to millions of people across the UK.
Emmanuel then went on to create The Eman Effect, which is a financial platform that provides talks and seminars to schools, colleges, universities, charities and corporate organisations. He also provides consultation services to individuals and small businesses.
Emmanuel has given financial education talks all over the UK and has spoken to over 30,000 people in the last two years. Emmanuel has been featured in The Times, Telegraph and Daily Mail newspapers and has been invited to speak as an expert guest on ITV News and BBC Radio on multiple occasions.
Emmanuel also uses The Eman Effect platform to share his story to motivate people to realise that although they may not be where they want to be in life, with self-belief, hard work and consistency they can achieve their dreams.
Emmanuel is a fully qualified financial adviser through the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII). He also holds a BA (Hons) in Accounting and Finance from the University of Greenwich.
Emmanuel has a fun, energetic and passionate delivery style and has a way to bring financial advice to life and make financial education relatable and easy to understand.
