Richard Bacon is the host of the mid-afternoon slot on BBC Radio 5 Live. He made his name on children’s television programme Blue Peter, where he tried his hand at barefoot water-skiing and Arctic exploration.
Since Blue Peter, Richard has worked on a number of television and radio projects including Channel 4′s Big Breakfast, alongside Amanda Byram. He has also presented Top of the Pops and Get Staffed, and appeared on Vicious Circle, before moving to radio with drivetime shows on Xfm and Capital FM.
On TV, Richard is a regular on Rob Brydon’s Annually Retentive, has presented his own ITV4 show and The Big Idea for Sky, and has guest-presented The Wright Stuff and This Morning. He has also presented shows on BBC 6Music and Radio 2.
Away from television and radio, Richard has one of the most widely followed Twitter accounts with over 1.4 million followers.
