David Millar

As well as being a former member of the UCI World Tour pro cycling peloton and one of only two British cyclists to have worn the leader’s jersey in all three Grand Tours, David is also a former Olympic Team Captain, Author, Media Commentator, Filmmaker, Coach, Creative Director and Entrepreneur.

Within a year of David’s first local club Time Trial, he was a professional cyclist for the biggest team in France. Then things started to spiral out of control. Success came with the Tour de France stages wins, Vuelta Espana stage wins, leaders jerseys in both races and Time Trial World Championships, then David was banned for 2 years on doping charges.

He went on to become an athlete representative to the World Anti-Doping Authority and In 2007 he became a part owner of Slipstream Sports, now known as Team Garmin-Sharp, and helped build the pioneering ‘Clean Team’ that played a key role in changing the face of professional cycling. Through that and his role with the World Anti-Doping Agency as a member of their Athlete Committee, he has become one of the key spokesmen for anti-doping and one of the leaders in the change of culture within professional cycling. He went on to have a successful career before retiring in 2014.

David is known for being a stylish and highly articulate presenter, who is candid about his career and experiences. Using his career as a backdrop, David delivers inspiring content with key take away messages tailored to the objectives of the event.  He draws on his experiences both as a cyclist, Team Leader, Co-owner and Creative business leader with a wide portfolio of interests.
