Sir Ben Ainslie
Sir Ben Ainslie is a 4-time Olympic gold medal-winning sailor. He rose to prominence in the Atlanta Games after being beaten into silver by Brazilian Robert Scheidt. In Sydney he took his revenge, establishing a fourteen-point lead over his rival in the final race. Remarkably, he went on to win in Athens and Beijing.

Ben began sailing at an early age and quickly progressed through the very popular youth class. At the age of sixteen he moved into the Laser Class, and went on to qualify for Great Britain and eventually take silver medal in the 1996 Olympics after a very close battle for Gold. He then won Gold in Atlanta. He gained 15K in weight to move up to the Finn Class for the 2004 Olympics, winning a Gold Medal in Sydney, Beijing and in London.
In January 2012 Ben launched Ben Ainslie Racing (BAR), a new team that will initially compete in the next edition of the America’s Cup World Series along with plans to join ORACLE Racing. Ben Ainslie Racing will compete in the 2012/13 America’s Cup World Series following the completion of Ben’s London 2012 Olympic campaign.
