Susie has been a star of the track since she was 8 years old, and has progressed through karting, F3 right up to Formula One. She has always worked to promote diversity and equality in the sport she loves.
Hailing from Scotland, Susie is now one of the top female F1 drivers in the history of the sport. She has been the designated Mercedes Test Driver and has raced on some of the top tracks in the world.
After starting in karting at a young age, Susie began her professional career in the Formula Renault UK Championship, where she notched three podiums and was twice nominated for British Young Driver of the Year Award. After a brief spell in Formula 3, she made her name with Mercedes Benz in DTM, the German Touring Car Championship, between 2006 and 2012. It was in this year that Susie moved into F1, being signed by Williams. Wolff entered as a development driver for the team, holding the position for two seasons before being promoted to a test driver for the 2015 season. At the 2014 British Grand Prix Susie made history by becoming the first woman to take part in a Formula One race weekend in 22 years.
After many years racing, Susie has hung up her helmet and moved on to big things. Having made her way up in a male-dominated world, Susie will be working with the Motor Sports Association to inspire and empower others to achieve their goals. Susie has also joined Channel 4 for the launch of its F1 coverage as an expert analyst.
Her progression in Formula 1 represents so much more than a racing driver simply trying to reach the pinnacle of the sport – her achievements are a celebration of women succeeding both on and off the track and an inspiration to anyone who dares to dream big.
In 2016 Susie launched her own initiative called Dare to be Different in collaboration with the UK Motorsport Governing Body, the Motor Sports Association. The initiative aims to drive female talent – inspiring, connecting and showcasing within male-dominated industries.
Susie is bilingual in English and German, a firm favourite with sponsors and fans, and an accomplished public speaker.
