Rt Hon Lord Reid is the UK’s most experienced Cabinet minister of modern times, having held more ministerial posts at Cabinet level than any other politician in recent history.
John has served in leadership across a range of security-related portfolios in the UK Government including Home Secretary and Defence Secretary.
Following almost quarter of a century as an MP he is now a Member of the House of Lords, the Upper Chamber of the UK Parliament. He is a Principal of The Chertoff Group, serves as a Senior Advisor to a number of major commercial companies and is presently Hon. Professor and Chair of the Institute for Security and Resilience Studies at University College London. He is also Vice Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Homeland Security.
