Lucy Rout is the 28 year old founder of Tabuu, a stylish pill case brand on a mission to remove the stigma around medication.
Following a reconstruction of her digestive system to remove pancreatic cancer aged 25, Lucy now lives with disability and takes medication every time she eats.
After searching the market for a stylish case to carry her tablets in and open conversation in the media surrounding medication, Lucy found neither and embarked on a mission to create a business that would drive conversations whilst also addressing the gap in the market for people like her living with disability and chronic illness.
Lucy’s on a mission to disrupt the category at scale whilst using advertising to un-stereotype the narrative around disability and illness, having directed two creative campaigns which were described by Forbes Magazine as “game changing levels of inclusivity” and Lucy has since been twice nominated by the Great British Entrepreneurs Association as GB Entrepreneur of the year aged just 26.
Lucy also appeared on Dragons Den in January 2023, becoming the first entrepreneur in 20 years of the show to receive backing offers from 3 Dragons, alongside a full time job offer from Peter Jones whom she then worked for directly.
