As a former no saying, height hating, comfort lover she turned her life around by saying YES a little more often. Standing on top of Everest in 2016 having survived the earthquake whilst at Camp 1 on the mountain in 2015, she did wonder how on earth she got there but Everest is just one chapter, not the whole story.

In 2004 Jo was a Business Advisor living a very risk averse life when she took part in a bike challenge in Peru, cycling 500km for Asthma UK, which slowly changed her life. She now enjoys a richness of life she never thought possible, sharing her passion for the outdoors and creating extraordinary memories for her clients by pushing their perceived limits as well as challenging herself in her own personal challenges. As an Expedition Leader, Outdoor Instructor and Public Speaker, Jo teaches and assesses the expedition element of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award here in the UK and takes students and adults on adventures, mostly at altitude, all over the world. ‘Say yes now and work it out later’ was her late Father’s mantra and she encourages others to embrace those words too.

Before her 40th in 2011 she had never been above 6000m and since then has become the 3rd British woman to reach the true summit of Mansalu, the world’s 8th highest mountain standing at 8,163m in 2013, and in 2016 reached the summit of Everest becoming the 38th British woman to do so.

Jo has now completed 6 of the 7 summits, some multiple times, and continues to fundraise for children’s mental health charity Place2Be as part of her challenge, totally £45,000 to date. The final summit, Carstensz Pyramid in Indonesia, is on the cards when it is safe to do so which will see her join just a handful of Brits and around 500 climbers worldwide to achieve this coveted mountaineering milestone.

Jo has an inspirational story to tell which connects with any client looking develop their teams. Talks are tailored to each client’s interests and individual briefs to gain the most out of her time with you.
