As the former Member of Youth Parliament for North West Hampshire between 2019-2024, he passionately represented the interests of 25,000 young people aged 11-18. Currently, Dmitrijs serves as the Chair of Hampshire County Council’s Youth Forum, advocating for young people and addressing pertinent issues.
In 2021, Dmitrijs received the prestigious Diana Award for his outstanding social and humanitarian work. He was also honoured with the ‘Young Person of the Year’ Award at the Pride of Andover Awards and shortlisted for The Children’s Achievement Award at the Children and Young People Now Awards.
Transitioning seamlessly into the corporate realm, Dmitrijs has demonstrated his prowess as the Director of The Local Marketing Compan Ltd, an Andover-based marketing agency, and the visionary behind its success, onboarding the likes of senior parliamentarians, politicians and national and international healthcare recruitment companies. In 2022, he secured the title of ‘Future Talent of the Year’ at the Central South Business Awards, showcasing his entrepreneurial acumen and leadership skills, having also been a finalist in both 2023 and 2024’s Hampshire Business Awards in the Young Business Person of the Year Award.
Dmitrijs has also made a mark in the realm of public speaking, making his debut House of Commons speech at the Prime Minister’s despatch box in 2023. His speech focused on the critical importance of the quality of food young people receive at school, shedding light on a crucial aspect of youth well-being and education.
Beyond this notable achievement, Dmitrijs has delivered keynote speeches at various Hampshire County Council events, including the stakeholders conference for Hampshire 2050. He has also hosted significant events such as the Hampshire Youth Parliament’s Election Evening at the County Council’s HQ and co-hosted the Pride of Andover Awards 2023 alongside Jordan Wylie MBE, and in 2024, alongside rock legend Simon Gallup of The Cure, set to host the Test Valley Business Awards in 2024.
Dmitrijs, through his diverse roles and impactful speeches, embodies the spirit of young entrepreneurism. His multifaceted journey, being a queer British-Latvian immigrant, showcases a remarkable ability to effect positive change, excel in various domains, and engage diverse audiences on topics ranging from succeeding as an entrepreneur from a young age to effectively garnering interest from politicians and stakeholders on topical issues.
