In 2017, after a full-scale manic episode in Italy, time in psychiatric wards and a 5-year battle with bipolar disorder, Dan ran 1250-miles in 65-days (solo & self-supported) from The Colosseum in Rome back to The London Eye to share his powerful story of adversity & recovery on an international scale and empower thousands of others around the world to speak up about their own adversity and vulnerabilities.

Now Dan is one of the UK’s most sought-after professional mental health speakers & campaigners who continues to channel his lived experiences to inspire audiences across the UK and around the world on topics of vulnerability, courage, finding the meaning in our suffering, the power of putting ourselves first and more; all of which was shared with passion & raw emotion on the TEDx stage in 2021.

Dan is regularly featured on national media platforms including the BBC, the Telegraph, the Evening Standard, the Heads Together campaign and other leading mental-health, wellbeing and ultra-running platforms.

Dan is also a proud father, husband, podcast host, alpine ski instructor and Salomon ambassador who continues to channel his lives experiences and passion for the world of ultra-running to ignite conversations around strength, intentionality and being kind to ourselves as we navigate the trials and trails of life.
