The Princess Royal Training Award (PRTA) has been granted to the Tennis Foundation in collaboration with Raise the Bar who created and implemented the ‘Business of Tennis’ management training programme.

The top honour was handed to the development programme, which started out in 2016, after it was seen to meet multiple agreed target outcomes set out during the programme’s inception. Collaboratively, we wanted to achieve multiple outcomes of success, from creating a culture of high performing teams in tennis centres around the country; to harnessing the best practices in management approaches to ensure the greatest possible performance improvements.

The award for standards of excellence in learning and development was achieved by 48 organisations around the UK. Raise the Bar are very proud that the programme has been awarded with one of the top honours a training programme can receive – with an official Royal seal of approval by HRH Princess Royal.

Our Director of Learning Shaun Lanceley said of the achievement: “Raise the Bar is honoured to have received this accolade for the programme we developed, designed and delivered for our client.

The brief was clear and challenging – our client wanted a programme to transform the commerciality and customer experience within their business, the culture needed to be more collaborative and high performance focussed, communication had to be better both internally and externally, customers needed to experience a world-class service and engage more with the business, and ultimately results had to improve. This had to be delivered through world-class leadership. The programme also had to be heavily contextualised for their business to make it engaging and enable easy transfer of learning into results. We achieved on all fronts!

We are overjoyed that the successes we have achieved with our client have been recognised with the Princess Royal Training Award 2018.”
