Practicus Apprenticeships

14 April 2022

Founded 18 years ago, Practicus is a recruitment organisation with a difference. Passionate about helping people and organisations manage change and fill key skills gaps, they focus exclusively on senior roles in specialist areas. Their consultants have on average more than 15 years of search experience within each of their specialised areas, bringing unparalleled levels of expertise, credibility and trust among their clients and candidates alike.

The Challenge

The global Covid-19 pandemic had a heavy impact on the recruitment industry as a whole, and on top of this the industry is one that is constantly evolving, with changes in technological advancements, sociological trends, behaviour transformation of candidates and shifts in job market perspectives.

As part of the post pandemic rebuild, Practicus management team wanted to invest in their people and wanted to ensure their key staff were effectively trained to embrace new trends and were able to build and manage new and existing teams.

The Solution

After an extensive review of training providers, Practicus chose to enrol learners on the Raise the Bar Excelling in Team Leadership Level 3 Apprenticeship programme as part of an open cohort. This had the added benefit of exposure to other organisations and industries and the challenges they face, as well as providing networking opportunities.

This programme provided the ideal course content, structure and flexible learning approach that met the company’s needs. It was important to ensure that the learning could take place flexibly alongside existing work commitments as long-term success for recruiters is founded upon maintaining and nurturing client and candidate relationships, so long periods away would not have worked.

The Outcome

It was vital for Practicus to have new leaders coming through the ranks to put themselves in the best possible position to achieve the growth targets planned for the coming years. The Excelling in Team Leadership programme is helping this plan to take shape. Their learners have demonstrated improvements in problem solving, in their approach to organisational strategy and their general ability, confidence and desire to contribute to the team and company.

…it’s a commitment but one worth making to help create leaders of the future and to develop existing ones.
